BACKSTORY

In the year 2,500, a war on Earth threatened to destroy the entire planet. At that time, those with enough money—and others who managed to sneak in—escaped to colonies on Mars. Among them was Dr. Everon, who invented a mechanism to convert carbon dioxide into oxygen, making Mars habitable. He built the initial infrastructure of the main cities; as he approached death, he connected his brain to a computer to achieve immortality and watch over his creation.

Ahl Evnord is the son of a scientist researching perpetual energy to create a world of limitless abundance without money. However, Dr. Everon wanted this invention for his own power. Ahl’s father embedded the discovery within his son and abandoned him in the forest—beyond the reach of Everon’s technology—to keep him hidden. Sergei found Ahl and, recognizing his “quantum powers,” trained him. At age 20, Sergei left him a fortune, and Ahl decided to move to the city to study science and live a normal life.
